Everyone Wins
Everyone wins when the leader gets better. – Bill Hybels
I am sure each of you can remember the time they put your first child in your arms, and they looked right up at you. If you are like me, that is when the reality of being a parent sets in. I won’t say I understood the responsibility of being a parent, but I did feel the weight of that responsibility. When that newborn looks up at you for the first time, you understand you are now living your life to lift someone else.
This is why we as parent leaders need to commit to better ourselves in any way we feel we need to. The greatest asset we have as a person is our untapped potential. We can grow and develop as a person and as a leader.
One of the best investments we can make in our family is the investment we make in ourselves. When we grow as a leader, we lift our family along with us. We become better equipped to empower those we lead. Our commitment to our self-growth is a commitment to our family.
Start with something small. What is something you could do in just 10 minutes a day that would put you on a path to become just a little bit better? Getting better does not happen with one massive action. It comes with small things that you do each day that add up over time. Get better each day for you and get better each day for those you are privileged to serve and lead. Everyone wins when the leader gets better.
