Leadership starts in the home

Consistency

Consistency is just flat out hard—even the simple things. I have had the goal to read something that would build me up each day for the last ten years or so. It always funny to me how hard it is to make that happen. Think about it. My goal is to sit down for 10 minutes and read a few pages. That’s right; I struggle with a goal that is basically sit in a chair! 🙂

Successful people do consistently

What other people do occasionally

I struggle so much with something some simple. This daily struggle has taught me a lot about greatness. Greatness is more about doing something good over and over than it is about one simple event of excellence.

The same is right about our personal growth. It is doing things that are good for us repeatedly until we make that who we are. A perfect example of this is a diet. You can’t eat healthy occasionally and expect the same results if you bend your life to a consistently healthy diet.

Start small and start today. Pick one thing you feel you can begin to do each day and build up consistency. Don’t focus on being great at this activity right now. Focus on being good enough to get it done today. Start adding up the good to become great.

3 Questions To Lead To Action

What is one thing I can start today that I can duplicate every day to make me better?

What is one thing we can do in our family each day to become a strong family?

What is the smallest thing I can do for the next 30 days that will get me going in the direction I want to go? – Don’t be afraid of starting small. Starting small is better than not starting at all.
